Run Windows Software in Puppy
WINE Runs Windows Software in Puppy Linux
Install and run your Windows software just like you did in Windows.
Download WINE package.
- WINE install package (preferred)
- WINE install package (alternate)
Use ROX-Filer to browse to the file, click once on the WINE .pet file and follow the prompts to install.
After WINE is installed it is fully integrated into Puppy Linux. You may now install and then run your Windows compatible software just as you did previously in Windows.
Windows Is Not Required To Run WINE
It is a complete software environment and Windows need not be installed for you to use WINE.
WINE Compatible Software
To see what kind of success others have had at running a particular application you may either view the Top 10 Platinum List or browse the complete database of applications on the WINE web site.
Not All Windows Software Will Run In WINE
Some but not all Windows compatible software will run in WINE and hence Puppy Linux but you have nothing to lose by trying!
