mhWaveEdit Sound Editor

This software enables you to record and edit wav files. When you open a wav file you see a graphical representation of the entire file. If the file is in stereo you see both channels. The user can adjust both the amplitude and playback time of the waveform display for precision editing.

You can perform the following actions on a wav file:

  • Cut, copy and paste any part of an audio file into it's self or another file
  • Select and delete any part of an audio file
  • Normalize volume
  • Normalize volume by a user selectable factor
  • Insert silence
  • Fade in or fade out
  • Find top volume and then fade in or fade out by a user selectable percentage of that volume
  • Resample by a user selectable numerical value
  • Convert sample format to a standardized value
  • Adjust playback speed
  • Add channels
  • Convert stereo to mono
  • Mix channels by a user selectable percentage
  • Process sound through an external program from within mhWaveEdit

All editing is nondestructive and can be undone as long as the file is not saved.
